COCHLEA & EUSTACHIA (The Stranger Strips)

My recollection is pretty hazy on these comic strips I drew for THE STRANGER. I think it was probably 2003?
I have to acknowledge and thank Rick Altergott who put in a good word for me helped get me the gig. It was probably my first professional job that paid me actual money for my weird comics. (He also provided me lots of useful advice and even instructed me how to digitally color the comics - something I was completely ignorant about at the time.)
Although I didn’t live in any city that got that particular weekly periodical, I remember hearing about it when I attended the MoCCA Arts Fest that year. People were abuzz about it and kept coming up to me to tell me how excited they were to see such an oddball comic in the paper!
I think that may have been the key to Fantagraphics contacting me to publish THE SQUIRREL MACHINE.
Very fond memories.

PURGE

Due to the current snowstorm sweeping across the region, today’s opening reception for my exhibit at Outpost 186 has been canceled. I’ve decided to respond productively by clearing space.

Unearthed from deep storage are early mini-comics, prints, publications, and assorted Chrome Fetus artifacts - remnants, experiments, oddities, and debris from various eras of my work, now released, vulnerable and shivering back into the unforgiving world.
THE PURGE SALE is open for ONE WEEK ONLY :
Sunday 1/25 – Sunday 2/1
After that, these items will be removed from circulation and will not be available anywhere on Earth again - at least not until after my demise.

SORRY

My sincerest apologies to all of New England. It appears that my decision to schedule an opening reception this weekend directly triggered the impending snowstorm.

As a result, the opening reception is postponed for the time being. With any luck, by March the weather may be more merciful.
